Not all that is Amish is equal

Many retail furniture showrooms attempt to capitalize on the recent popularity of Amish furniture by extolling the virtues of their Amish "style" furniture. Actually it's not the style that attracts people to it - it's the craftsmanship and attention to detail. Besides, the Amish make many styles of furniture. The most popular are Mission, Prairie, Shaker, Farmer and Traditional.

Other stores may say that their Amish furniture is manufactured in factories that exclusively hire Amish workmen. While this is an improvement, much of the creativity is lost on an assembly line.

Can we build one for you?
What sets Family Gathering Amish Furniture apart from the mainstream showrooms are our craftsmen.
The fine simple lines produced by Amish craftsmen have been a mark of quality and elegance for centuries. Each artisan has a specialty that they are known for. One creates beautiful chairs, while another is known for his tables or hutches, etc, , , In this way you are receiving the finest workmanship of a specialist.

Why Family Gathering Amish Furniture Is A Step Above:

Solid woods:
We DO NOT use veneers! Instead, solid pieces of oak, cherry, maple, and pine are used, along with woods specially requested by our customers. For an additional investment, quartersawn boards are also available.

Attention to detail:
At every stage of assembly the finest workmanship is used to create not only a beautiful piece, but also one that will last the test of time. This is accomplished by taking pride to insure proper fit and using the finest quality hardware available.

Custom built not custom priced
With all the attention to detail and craftsmanship found in Family Gathering Furniture, the price is still comparable to mass produced items found in most major retail stores.

A word about our finishes:
Once the craftsmen complete a piece of furniture, it is brought to our Amish finisher and all pieces are then finished with the same stain batch. This of course makes a consistent finish between pieces. The last coat to be applied is a catalized lacquer finish.which allows your furniture to not by affected by hot pans, water rings or spilled nail polish. Easy cleanup and beauty is possible with Family Gathering Amish Furniture.
